Hacks To Sneak More Fitness Into Your Day

Did you know just 30 minutes of fitness a day can decrease your stress but up to 50%. Not to mention all the other amazing benefits that come with moving your body. 30 minutes does’t seem like much does it? Well to be honest, I think if you want to see radical results or just ensure optimal health the more you can step it up the better.

Don’t have time for more than 30 minutes? That’s ok, let’s look at some easy hacks to sneak more fitness into your day without even stepping food in the gym beyond 30 minutes.

1 – Switch up your commute. Even if it is 2 days a week that’s better than none. Can you walk, ride or run to work 1 or 2 days a week? Can you park your car a block further away? Can you get off 1 or 2 tram or train stops earlier and walk the extra? This is one of the easiest ways to add a few more steps into your day.

2 – Set a timer on your phone for 60 minutes. Every 60 minutes get up, stretch go for a short walk around the office or block. Come back and continue work. You will be amazed you refreshed you feel.

3 – People laugh at this one but it works…. 10 squats every time you go to the bathroom. You will be amazed how many squats you do in a day by breaking them up like this. Plus 10 squats only takes about 20 seconds.

4 – Meet friends for a walk. Use your catch ups as a time to get active with your friends. You will kill two birds with one stone and get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

5 – Take the stairs. It’s obvious but always take the stairs over the escalator or lifts. It bugs me how easy this is yet so many people don’t do it. 

6 – Don’t go through the drive through. No I’m not talking about Maccas or KFC drive through. I’m talking about the car wash. Wash your own car, it’s a great way to get the whole body moving. 

7 – Cooking Dinner. While waiting for the pot to boil or the meat to be flipped do 10 bench push ups or 20 jumping jacks. Repeat this 3 or 4 times and you will feel the heart rate pumping.

8 – Watching T.V get up to change the channels. This goes for anything with a remote. If you want to change it, get up, walk to the T.V and switch it over. So old fashioned I know, but easy to do. 

9- Stretch. Throughout the day any chance you get to stretch do it. If you are mindful of this you will be suprised you get the chance to sneak in a stretch.

10 – During commercials of your favourite T.V show do a certain exercise the whole add break – sit ups, push ups, jogging on the spot, knee tucks, anything you like.
